Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Grants Programme will Close to Applications on the 6th November 2023 (UK)
The Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Grants Programme has announced that it will close for applications on the 6th November 2023. The programme offers grants of up to £1,000 to schools in the UK to set up Breakfast clubs for those children in most need. To qualify for the programme the breakfast club must be based in a school in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland and priority will be given to schools that have 35% and above of children eligible for pupil premium funding and / or eligible for free school meals or that are based in an area which is classified as falling in the 10% of most deprived areas according to the Index of Multiple Deprivation. Only one grant per school in each academic year will be available.
Hadrian Trust (North East of England)
Charities and groups working for the benefit of people and the environment across Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and Durham, including Hartlepool can apply for grants of £500 to £2,000 from the Hadrian Trust. Projects supported will address issues in the fields of social welfare; youth; disability; the elderly; women; ethnic minorities; education; arts; and the environment. Applications are considered for running costs, project costs, part salaries and basic equipment. The next closing date for applications is the 21st December 2023.
Funding to Support Members of the Armed Forces and their Families (UK)
Armed Forces charities and other not-for-profit organisations can apply for grants of up to £40,000 to support serving armed forces personnel, veterans, operationally qualified seafarers and their immediate families. The Veteran’s Foundation will award funding for projects lasting up to three years to organisations with low to medium income. A range of factors will be considered including the service or item being funded, the number of beneficiaries, the importance of the grant to the applicant organisation, the efficiency of the organisation, need of the beneficiaries and its urgency. The Foundation is introducing a new Grant Making System which is due to go live in mid-September. The next closing date for applications is the 30th January 2024.
Funding to Encourage Volunteering Amongst Young People (UK)
Grants of up to £500 are available to individuals or groups of young people aged 30 or under who aim to make a difference through volunteering or community service. The funding is made available through the Alec Dickson Trust and prioritises projects that involve many volunteers, address specific needs of disadvantaged communities and individual, and are innovative and sustainable. The Trust is looking for projects that identify a specific need, and propose to carry out activities that will clearly help to address this need and are long-lasting and sustainable as possible. The deadline for submissions is midnight on the 13th November 2023.
Funding for Youth Music Projects (England)
Youth Music, which is a national charity that aims to give every young person the chance to make, learn and earn in music has announced that it has updated and re-opened its Trailblazer and Catalyst Funds. The Trailblazer Fund makes grants of between £2,000 to £30,000 for organisations that support children and young people facing barriers to make, learn and earn in music. The Catalyser Fund makes grants of between £30,001 and £300,000 for established organisations that support children and young people to make, learn and earn in music. School-based music curriculum activity is ineligible for funding under both funds unless in a special school, Pupil Referral Unit or Alternative Provision setting. The next deadline for the Trailblazer fund is the 12th January 2024 The deadline for submitting am Expression of Interest for the Catalyst Fund is the 10th May 2024.
Protective Security for Mosques Scheme – Deadline Extended (England & Wales)
The UK Government is making funding available to reduce the risk and impact of hate crime and terror attacks at Muslim places of worship and their associated faith community centres in England and Wales. The funding will be made available through the Protective Security for Mosques Scheme for the free installation of protective security, such as CCTV, intruder alarms, security guarding services, and secure fencing. To apply for funding, applicants should submit evidence of their vulnerability and experience of hate crime. The closing date for applications has now been extended until the 26th November 2023.
Grants to Improve Health, Social Welfare & Employment Opportunities for Young People (Scotland)
Grants of up to £3,000 are available to charities and community groups working to improve the health and social welfare of, and offer training and employment opportunities to disadvantaged young people up to the age of 25 in Scotland. The types of projects the Essentia Foundation are looking to support could include helping those facing long-term challenges living in poverty and inequality, projects that support the participation in mainstream society for those with learning disabilities or long-term life limiting health conditions, or projects that support those who have been excluded from school to access or return to education or training opportunities. The closing date for applications is the 30th November 2023.
Grants to Support Youth Mental Health & Social Action Projects (London & the South of England)
Grants of up to £10,000 are available to charities, community groups, and other charitable organisations across London and the South of England to support the mental health and well-being of young people, and encourage them to engage in youth social action. The SNG #iwill Fund 2.0 – Wellbeing Champions Programme will support organisations to upskill at least 15 young people aged 10-20 to become Wellbeing Champions, teaching them to look after their own mental health and wellbeing, support their peers, and raise awareness in their communities. Champions will go on to deliver their own youth social action project. The funding is made available by the Sovereign Network Group (SNG) in partnership with the Reverse the Trend Foundation, which will accept applications until midnight on the 19th November 2023.
£250,000 Fund to Decarbonise the Creative Industries (UK)
A new £250,000 fund has been launched to help decarbonise the creative industries. Delivered by Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, the Creative Catalyst Challenge Fund will support businesses in the creative industries to research and develop new technologies and processes for decarbonising or reducing waste. Examples could include technology for reducing excess waste at music festivals, textile recycling, revolutionising audience travel to events and festivals, and developing new manufacturing processes. One award of £250,000 or a number of smaller awards may be made, depending on the applications received. The deadline for applications is 12pm on the 27th November 2023.
Funding to Support Vulnerable Families During the Cost-of-Living Crisis (South of England)
Funding is available to support vulnerable families during the cost-of-living crisis. The Cash for Kids Cost of Living Fund will support families in the South of England who have a genuine need for help and are suffering from disadvantage due to the crisis, allowing them to apply for grants of £50 per child which can be used for basic essentials such as food, heating, clothing, and school uniform. Service providers who support vulnerable children, including schools, social services, health professionals and charities, can apply on behalf of the families they work with. Cash for Kids aims to get the funds to families as soon as possible. Applications will close when all funding has been allocated.
